What song "gets" you???

I was happily sitting on the bus making my way home, on another FABULOUS day in Dublin I might add, listening to my Ipod when the song came on. I am not sure what it is about the song but it puts me through such a range of emotions, sorrow being one, but somehow it is a good sorrow. I love lots of other songs but generally the emotion is either happy or sad, this one somehow envelopes it all....

Forever Young - Alphaville

Lets dance in style, lets dance for a while

Heaven can wait were only watching the skies

Hoping for the best but expecting the worst

Are you going to drop the bomb or not?

Let us die young or let us live forever

We dont have the power but we never say never

Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip

The musics for the sad men

Can you imagine when this race is won

Turn our golden faces into the sun

Praising our leaders were getting in tune

The musics played by the madmen

Forever young, I want to be forever young

Do you really want to live forever, forever and ever

Some are like water, some are like the heat

Some are a melody and some are the beat

Sooner or later they all will be gone

Why dont they stay young

Its so hard to get old without a cause

I dont want to perish like a fading horse

Youth is like diamonds in the sun

And dimonds are forever

So many adventures couldnt happen today

So many songs we forgot to play

So many dreams are swinging out of the blue

We let them come true

Quite a philosophical song, and that for a German Band !

I am ashamed to say that I did not even know it was a German band!!! What is your song then??? My best happy song at the moment is I feel like dancing by Scissor Sisiters...your turn!

don't be ashamed, I did not even know what the song really was about, until I read the lyrics here on your blog.....

I have to think about my happy song for the moment because I work in peace and quiet at my office, and drive home in the same manner each day.

Now I am intrigued, peace and quiet at work, cannot say I have ever known that myself! Listening to music on the Ipod is new for me, but really good.

I mean without any music... never a dull moment over here in building and selling yachts !

OMG, LOVE that song! I like 'Mr Blue Sky' by ELO. I know it's ancient, but it makes me smile. I like that Scissor Sisters one too, and that Valerie one. Was dead disapointed when I bought Amy Wino's album and it wasn't on there.

Loving the new photo by the way, Nats, you gorgeous thang xx

Rich - Aw thanks, I worry that my blog is a bit boring actually...
LOVE your choice of song!
BUT you need to go even further back with your song - one from way back when...

way back when, OK....what about "the boys of summer " by Don Henly ?! Fabulous song and great voice.

Yes, brilliant song again, for someone who does not listen to music at work OR in the car you do make good choices ;)I am actually listening to it now as I type this comment, a very summery feeling song. If it was not for the Eagles concert I would probably not be living in Dublin right now! And I watched Don Henley play the song at the concert...
